ARIMIDEX and the ATAC Clinical Trial

The Study

ARIMIDEX was put to the test, taken both against, or combined with the antiestrogen medication tamoxifen. That’s why it’s called "ATAC"- which stands for "ARIMIDEX, Tamoxifen Alone or in Combination."

The Method

More than 9,300 postmenopausal women, each with early breast cancer, were studied for over 10 years. The study period included 5 years of treatment, and 5 years post-treatment.

The Results

Women who took ARIMIDEX experienced an improvement in disease-free survival compared with those who took only tamoxifen.
